The EMPACT (Emergency Medical Patients: Assessment, Care & Transport) course presents a practical approach to adult medical emergencies. Through features such as “Possibilities to Probabilities”, “Clinical Insights” and “Treatment Pathway”, EMPACT offers the student pragmatic approaches to common medical emergencies.
Topics covered include assessment, critical thinking/decision making, shock/hypoperfusion, chest discomfort or pain, dyspnea, altered mental status, acute abdominal discomfort or pain, gastrointestinal bleeding, seizures, syncope, headache, nausea and vomiting among others.
